The Long Dark Space Between the Stars
A downloadable role-playing game
A one-shot, melancholy sci-fi thriller TTRPG for 2 players.
You hear the hiss of your decompressing cryo-pod. And as you come to your senses, you see in the low glow of the ship’s auxiliary lights, the rest of your crew still in stasis. Your ship is still in hyperspace, you can feel the vibrations through the back of your skull. There’s a reason you’re not supposed to be awake while traveling through hyperspace. But there’s something wrong.
Whatever’s gone wrong, you need to sort it out before you either die, lose your mind, or the ship itself is destroyed.
The Long Dark Space Between the Stars is a single session TTRPG about fighting against the vacuum of space in a hyperspace journey gone wrong. You will decide which you are willing to sacrifice and which you will try to save: Your mind, your body, or your ship.
Alien, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Interstellar and The Expanse are all touch stones for this project. Any story where someone is stuck on a spaceship fighting for their life, and has to decide what they're willing to sacrifice to save either their ship or themselves.
As a game, The Long Dark Space Between the Stars is very loosely a Forged in the Dark game, and takes inspiration from the dice rolling mechanics and moment to moment action of Blades in the Dark.

hi there, just wondering if any community copies would be released into the wild before Christmas
It’s a tough month for me without family and I’m after some good games to help cope with the holiday period. Kind regards
There is a typo at page 13 (third paragraph final), a sentence is partially repeated.
Overall, great introspective oneshot rpg experience. Very enjoyable.
Played this with a friend of mine (I gm'd, he was the player) and had a ton of fun! Really tense, had a lot of fun juggling the risk reward aspect of each roll. Would recommend!
